Axles

I used a Chevy 1/2 ton Dana 44 front end and cut about 10
inches out of it. It has the stock Chevy disk brakes and I left it 6 lug so I
can swap tires and wheels with my 72 Blazer. Since I took these pictures
I've installed the axle shafts. I ordered them from Mosier through
Fearless Gear in Fresno Ca. Dana 44 front axles have two sizes of
u-joints, I used the bigger of the two.

In the back I put a custom Dana 60. Fearless Gear in Fresno built it for me. They used Ford 9 inch disk brakes from a mid 70's Lincoln and 35 spline Mosier axles. The pumpkin has 4:10 gears and a Lock Right. The housing has 9 inch axle ends welded to it and it uses stock 9 inch axle bearings and retainers. I am not going to use the single rear leaf, I just needed to be able to roll it around while I was working on it. Since these pictures were taken I re-did the rear springs. I cut the eyes off of a stock Wrangler pack and added the leaves under the stock Jeepster leaf. It looks like its going to work great and I should have pics soon.
