| Wednesday 5/15/02...got my headers today. I tried to use some ram horn cast manifolds that Dave sold me but they hit the valve covers on the new style heads. So off to plan c, order headers. I really didn't want to because you hear of all the horror stories about them leaking. These are Headman headers and they have a 1/4 inch flange. The tubing thickness is 18 gauge and the collector is welded on. I think I'll give them a try for now and see how I like them. They came black, I painted them blue.... |

| Saturday 5/11/02... It took some waiting but I finally got a sunny day with no rain so I could paint my firewall. This was my custom paint booth and some progress photos. |

| Friday 4/26/02...The darn sun disappeared on me. I was looking at the firewall with the painted motor in front of it and thought this would be the perfect time to paint it, so I did some quick sanding and primered it. Not a show car job. I'm just motivated to have it all the same color. So its been too cold to paint and I'm at a standstill...... |

| Saturday 4/20/02....Major progress!!! The new intake is on, I painted a bunch of parts. I spent most of the day tightening bolts and checking everything. I fixed the water pump, the shaft wasn't pressed in far enough and the pulleys didn't line up. Its been a whirl wind day. The goal is to hear it run in the next two weeks. |

| I've started down a slippery slope that might end up with me having a running Jeepster!! The fuel injection started coming off tonight. I have just about everything I need to get it running now with a carb. I just need shocks, driveline, exhaust, wiring, and brakes. And some paint to cover up the rust it grew from sitting.... |

| Rear view of the new cross member. I chose to bolt it on instead of welding. If I decide that I like the way it performs I might weld it on at a later date. For now it bolts through the stock shackle pivot holes, the back side of the cross member, and it also has 1/4 inch plate extensions up the side of the frame rails like a trailer hitch. Its done now. painted and bolted on with 12 7/16 grade 8 bolts. It shouldn't go anywhere. | |
| I built new rods from the cowl to the radiator. After I finished I started thinking that it might rip the radiator apart when the frame is twisting. I am planning to go back and move the rods to the grill and make a new radiator mount that goes down to the frame. What do you think? | |
| I noticed some discussion on the chat board about steering and pitman arms. These are just a couple of pics of those. |
A few more pics since the raid.
