Commando Raid 2001

These pictures are in the order I took them.  They are very big and will take a long time to load. If anybody has more they would like me to post just e-mail me and we can make arrangements to get them on the web.  I saw a lot of digital cameras there and am looking forward to checking out pics of the events I didn't make, like the hardcore runs.  The first set is from Saturday while we were lining up for the day run.  We had a great time.  Spent most of the afternoon cruising around in the hills.  It was an awsome family trip with lunch in a small park.

The pictures below were from Sunday at the show and shine.  The raffle was held around 1:00 and despite the large number of tickets purchased the winner of the roll cage only bought one.  I offered to double his money and buy it from him but he declined.

There were a lot of really cool rigs and no two were even close to being the same.  I was surprised at the number of fuel injected Jeepsters that were at the event.  There was Vortec v8, a turbo charged 4.3 v6, and even a throttle body 225 odd fire.  I think my favorite was the ultra clean, right out of the paint shop green Jeepster with the Vortec v6.  The owner and his daughter drove it 16 hours from southern California with no top!!!  There were also a couple of other ones that drove up from So-Cal, A red one with no top and a nice clean yellow Jeepster.  I look forward to hearing about everybody's experiences and can't wait for the next one.  Chris and Wayne did a great job!!  And thanks to the "Trail Boss" Bob Watson for leading us around for the weekend.

These pics were taken by Walter at the raid.  I like the action shots!!  They are very big so be patient.  The first pic is a panorama made from several pics.
